The Coastal Alabama Brewton Warhawks softball team lost its opening games of the season to Central Alabama this past week. The Lady Warhawks lost 7-1, and 12-4.

Alexis Christian led Central Alabama at the plate in game No. 1 with a home run and 2 RBIs.

Natalie Johnson picked up the win after going the distance allowing one run, on four hits and five strikeouts.

In game No. 2, Nicole Hoots went 2-for-4 for Central Alabama with a home run and 3 RBIs. Kendra Gibbons went 2-for-3 with a homerun and 2 RBIs. Loren Bishop went 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs.

Pitcher Chelsea Mowery picked up the win for Central Alabama.

Coastal Alabama will next compete in the Chipola FPU Classic at Chipola College beginning on Fri., Feb. 10.

The Lady Warhawks will play Chipola College at 11 a.m., and Georgia Military at 1:30 p.m. The tournament will continue on Saturday, with the Lady Warhawks facing off against Walters State at the MERE Complex at 8 a.m., and Abraham Baldwin Ag at 12:30 p.m.
