The T.R. Miller Tigers defeated Opp (4-6) on Thursday 9-1. Dealing on the mound was JoJo Booker, who had 12 strikeouts in the winning effort.
Drew Williamson, Hunter Brittain, Stokes Jennings and Russell Smith all had multiple hits in the win. Brittain had two RBIs. Jason Konsler had three RBIs. Williamson had a double and an RBI, as well as two stolen bases. Caleb Winton had a triple. Jordan Williams had a hit.
Opp scored its lone run in the fifth inning. The Bobcats were able to load the bases and score on a hit batter. A groundout to first base would get the Tigers out of the jam.
Caleb Winton came in the game in the fifth inning in relief of Booker, allowing one run, two walks and striking out two.
The Tigers (7-0) will next play this Saturday at home versus Class 7A Davidson (3-7) in a double header. The first pitch is scheduled at 1 p.m.
