Warhawks sweep Bishop State

Team is 4-0 in conference, Carnley named ACCC Player of the Week
The Coastal Alabama Brewton Warhawks baseball team improved to 10-8 overall and 4-0 in the conference after completing a sweep of Bishop State this past weekend.
CA 7, Bishop St. 6
Harrison Moore, Tyler Reeves, Keith Johnson and Reilly Fox all had multiple hits in the win. Reeves batted 2-for-4 with a double; homerun and 2 RBIs. Johnson and Moore each had a double and 2 RBIs.
Marcus Buckley was 3-for-4 to lead Bishop State at the plate. Turner Imhoff had a homerun and 2 RBIs.
Dalton Shell picked up the win, entering the game in the fifth inning in relief of Blake Carnley. Shell allowed no runs, on two hits, one walk and one strikeout. Carnley allowed six runs, on four hits, six walks and five strikeouts.
Thomas Sorrentino was the losing pitcher for Bishop State.
CA 11, Bishop St. 10
Bishop State out-hit the Warkhawks 12-to-15, but it was the Warhawks who came up with the most timely hits. Tyler Reeves was 3-for-3 with two doubles, stolen base, and 2 RBIs to lead the Warkhawks. Bryton Melvin was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Jacob Saulnier was 2-for-4.
Michael Taylor led Bishop at the plate with three hits. Turner Imhoff was 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs.
Branden McLeod (0-2) was the losing pitcher for Bishop State. Max Moore (1-0) picked up the win for Coastal Alabama.
Bishop St. 2, CA 8
Coastal Alabama pitcher Garrett Whittle won his fourth game of the season striking out eight batters in a complete game effort. Bryton Melvin had 3 RBIs at the plate. Center fielder Blake Carnley had a triple and scored two runs.
Kody Glausier (1-3) was the losing pitcher for Bishop State.
Bishop St. 1, CA 11
The Warhawks scored four runs in the first inning and seven runs in the sixth. Coastal Alabama had 12 hits as a team. Blake Carnley was 3-for-3 with a double, RBI and two runs scored. Reilly Fox was 2-for-4 with 4 RBIs. Bryton Melvin had a double and 2 RBIs.
Marcus Buckley was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead Bishop State on offense.
Wyatt Butler (2-1) went the distance on the mound in a winning effort for the Warhawks. He allowed one run on five hits and two strikeouts.
Bradley Jarvis (0-2) picked up the loss.
This past Tuesday Blake Carnley was named the ACCC Player of the Week. Carnley batted .800 over five games, with eight singles, two doubles and two triples. He also walked five times and stole two bases. For the season Carnley leads the ACCC in hitting (.594) and on base percentage (.690), and is third in slugging (.813).
The Warhawks play at Faulkner State today in a double header. The team will host Faulkner State Sat., March 18, in a doubleheader with games beginning at noon.
