The Brewton Fire Department will begin testing and painting fire hydrants throughout the city this week.

Chief Jeffery Salter said residents will notice firefighters working along city streets in a number of different areas.

“We won’t be flowing everyone of the 400 hydrants as to not impact water pressure throughout the city; however, we will be painting every hydrant,” Salter said.
