The T.R. Miller boys’ tennis team will advance to state competition next week after placing second in sectionals on Tuesday in Montgomery. Miller boys finished second overall with Bayside Academy placing first, and St. Luke coming in third place.

Players competing in singles at state will be Sam Terry, Garrett Cave, Matthew Bishop and Noah Winton.

Doubles teams competing in state will be Terry and Cave; and Bishop and Clay Lang.

The TRM girls’ tennis team season came to an end after finishing 0-9 at sectionals. TRM tennis coach Terri Lynne Peacock said she is proud of how her girls’ team competed this season.

“We had a young girls’ team this year,” Peacock said. “Even though it’s not the result we wanted, I’m very proud of their efforts at sectionals.”

State competition will be played Mon., April 24 and Tues., April 25 in Mobile.
