Alabama Power finishes service project

The Alabama Power Service Organization (APSO) recently built and installed a free little library at Dogwood Hills Park in Brewton. The little libraries provide for free book exchanges.

Alabama Power employees built the free little library and installed it as part of a statewide service project. The Brewton project was spearheaded by APSO member and local Alabama Power employee Jason Newby. Inside the brightly decorated box at the Dogwood Hills City Park, residents will find books for both adults and children.
“We want local residents to come visit the little library and take a book,” said Newby. “When they are finished with the book, they can return it or even bring another book to share with others.”

Books for children should be placed on the bottom shelf and books for adults on the top one, Newby added.

The little library in Brewton is one of 20 built and installed by APSO members. APSO is a nonprofit volunteer organization that includes Alabama Power, Southern Nuclear, SouthernLINC and Southern Company Services employees and their families.
