Tigersharks earn 2nd place

The Brewton Tigersharks earned second place at the Gulf Coast Area Aquatic League
Championships in Fairhope this past weekend. The two-day meet consisted of eight teams from all over the Gulf Coast.
Swimmers in attendance for the Tigersharks were Cole Jernigan, Caleb Kent, Sara Scott, Callie Kent, Raylee Holcomb and Matthew Kirkland.
“Overall, our team did an amazing job, said Tigersharks swim coach Angel Boyd. “As a coach, I am beyond proud of their accomplishments and look forward to an amazing fall.”
Kirkland, who competed in the 11 year old age division, had an amazing meet as well racking up first place overall and earning a trohy in his age group as a high point winner. He earned medals in all five of his individual events.
Jernigan, a member of the T.R. Miller High School team, earned a high point trophy and five individual medals for his performance in the 15 to 18 year old age group.
Kent, also a member of the TRM swim team, brought home a high point trophy and five individual medals for his performance in the 13-year-old age group.
Scott, a member of the TRM swim team, swam in the 14 year old age
group and earned individual medals for her performance.
Raylee Holcomb, a new member of the TRM swim team, competed in the 11 year old age group. She dropped tons of time in her events and ribboned in each of them.
Kent, 10 year old Tigershark had a great meet. She earned both medals and ribbons for her efforts.
Registration for fall session is currently underway. Fall session will begin August 14.
