Carolyn Roberts Tolbert

Carolyn Roberts Tolbert, 79, of the Berrydale Community, passed away on Aug. 4, 2017.

Funeral services will be held today, Aug. 9, at 3 p.m. at Trahan Family Funeral Home in Milton. Burial will follow at the Berrydale Community Cemetery.

Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton, 6539 Trammel Dr., is in charge of arrangements.

She was born in Berrydale and lived there all her life.  She was a member of the Berrydale Community of Christ Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucky Tolbert.

She is survived by two daughters, Gwen Gillman and Angie (Joey) Moffett; one son, Timothy R. “Turkey” (Brenda) Tolbert; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Roy (Gail) Roberts.

She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister to her family and friends.

Barbara Ann Knowles Jestings 

Morris

Barbara Ann Knowles Jestings, 72, of Morris, passed away Sat., July 29, 2017, in a Birmingham hospital.

Visitation will be held Thurs., Aug. 3, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton.

Funeral services are scheduled for Fri., Aug. 4, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Elder Wayne Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in Little Escambia Cemetery in Flomaton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.

She was a native and long time resident of Flomaton and a resident of Morris for the past 12 years. She had attended Hall’s Creek Baptist Church and was a former employee of Jim Walter Doors and the Starter Manufactory in Flomaton.

She is survived by her two sons, Danny Lord of Birmingham and Vince Lord of Cullman; two daughters, Tammy Blackwell of Cedar Bluff, and Lorie Mims of Morris; brother, Curtis James Knowles; sister, Shirley Petty, both of Flomaton; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by parents, Willie James and Fannie Sheffield Knowles; son, Rodney Lord, and sister, Bobbie Jean Knowles.

Jacob Eugene Dinkins

Atmore

Jacob Eugene Dinkins, 29, of Estales Lane in Atmore, passed away Sat., July 22, 2017.

Funeral services were held Aug. 3, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Interment followed in Cooper Cemetery in Brewton, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.

He was a native of Pike County and a long time resident of Escambia County. He was of the Baptist faith, attended W.S. Neal High School, and was a laborer in the road construction industry.

He is survived by his father, Orbie (Robyn) Dinkins of Lincoln; mother, Ramona (Charles Ferguson) Wilson of Atmore; grandmother, Lerline Gilmore; two daughters, Erin Dinkins and Cassie Lee Dinkins; half brother, Phillip Lee Wilson; and half sister, Morgan Alyse Ferguson.

Samuel Donald Frazier

East Brewton

Samuel Donald Frazier of East Brewton passed away Fri., July 28, 2017, at his residence.

Funeral services were held Fri., Aug. 4, at 10 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Cardwell officiating. Interment followed in Zion Hill Cemetery in Brewton Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.

He was a native of Brewton, and life long resident of East Brewton. He was of the Baptist faith and a retired machinist from Precision Machines and Brewton Iron Works. He enjoyed coon hunting, squirrel hunting, and tree dogs.

He is survived by his two sons, Little Sam (Renee) Frazier of Brewton, and Nick Frazier, both of Brewton; two brothers, Bobby (Ann) Frazier of East Brewton, and Buddy (Gwen) O’Bannon of Brewton; sister, Sharon Kirkland of Brewton; five grandchildren, Kevin Johnson, Richard Johnson, Alanna Frazier, Layla Frazier, and Nicholas Frazier, Jr.; one great grandchild, Jayar Johnson; and a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Lou Jean O’Farrell Petty

Brewton

Lou Jean O’Farrell Petty, 78, of Brewton, passed away Tues., Aug. 1, 2017, at her residence after a brief illness.

Funeral services were held Sat., Aug. 5, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Sonny Steele officiating. Interment followed in Weaver Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.

She was a native and life long resident of Brewton. She was of the Protestant faith, and attended W.S. Neal High School. She was a homemaker and an avid Alabama fan.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Hubert Petty; son, Dewey (Phyllis) Petty, both of Brewton; sister, Mary Smith of Huxford; grandson, Jeremy Hank Petty of Semmes.

She is preceded in death by son, Rufus Farrion Petty.
