16 jailed; 3 sought

Some 16 people were jailed in connection with a two-month drug investigation in Brewton, while three others remain at large.
Sgt. Anthony Casey with the Brewton Police Department said arrests began Wed., Aug. 9, and stemmed from “drug buys” throughout the city.
“During the investigation purchases were made of crack/cocaine, crystal methamphetamine – or ICE –, synthetic cannabinoids, which is spice; powder cocaine and marijuana,” Anthony said. “We take reports of suspected drug activity in our community very seriously, and this series of arrests shows that our department is committed to taking drugs off our streets.”
Arrested as part of the investigation were:

• Sedrick Lorenzo Howard;
• David Leon Gaines;
• Nicholas Cantrell Puryear;
• Jeremy Parker Dubose;
• Crystal Dawn Kelly;
• Michael Anthony Woods II;
• Howard Deontae Lane;
• John Kurtis Johnson;
• Deonte Javon Powell;
• Brian Keith Stallworth;
• Rodney Dewayne Lane;
• Eugene Anderson Jr.;
• Marcus Reid;
• Darrell Nettles Jr.
Casey said investigations are currently seeking information as to the whereabouts of Marc Adrian Jones, 44; Michael Wayne Johnson, 41, and Carlos Levon Arnold, 35.
The three are wanted on charges of distribution and possession of a controlled substance.
During their continued search, officers executed a warrant at Jones’ Pea Ridge Road home Thursday and allegedly found 79 grams of “spice,” crack/cocaine, Ecstasy tablets, crystal meth and marijuana inside.
As a result, new charges were added for Jones and include trafficking, first-degree possession of marijuana and three counts of possession.
