Blackmon earns 1st place in Mobile

The T.R. Miller Cross Country team competed in the Mobile Challenge of Champions 5K last week in Mobile.

T.R. Miller girls placed third overall out of 18 teams (192 runners), only trailing behind Brookwood and Ocean Springs.

Ninth grader Olivia Blackmon had a phenomenal run, leading all runners to place first with a time of 20:21.15. Eighth grader Jordan Thompson cracked the overall top 10, placing 10th, with at time of 23:24.98.

Other notable girls’ performance times were:

• Madison Lum, 21st place, with a time of 23:50.29

• Rebecca Ann Moore, 30th place, with a time of 24:06.05

• Celeste Thomas, 34th place, with a time of 24:21.43

• Samantha Morris, 36th place, with a time of 24:23.94

• Sydney Lucas, 94th place, with a time of 27:23.14

• Joselyn Carpenter, 142nd place, with a time of 30:22.51

• Makenna Williams, 145th place, with a time of 30:26.92

The boy’s team placed seventh overall (257 runners) out of 21 teams.

Junior Robert Jernigan placed 10th overall with a time of 18:53.59.

Other notable boys’ performance times were:

• Tailand Mitchell, 44th place, with a time of 20:03.42

• Tanner McDaniel, 47th place, with a time of 20:07.72

• Micah Flores, 55th place, with a time of 20:17.96

• Sam Kelly, 62nd place, with a time of 20:28.05

• Tyler Thomas, 67nd place, with a time of 20:32.93

• Tucker McDaniel, 68th place, with a time of 20:33.12

• Justus Bailey, 110th place, with a time of 21:53.56

• Joe Luttrell, 122nd place, with a time of 22:17.97

• Brooks Feeley, 133rd place, with a time of 22:31.24

• James Tolbert, 227th place, with a time of 26:09.17

• Gavin Lucas, 245th place, with a time of 29:08.97

TRM cross-country will next compete Sat., Sept. 16, at Loxely Municipal Park at the Battle of the Bay.
