Brewton Youth Football Seniors finished their season with a loss to the Excel Panthers in the league championship.
The BYF Seniors had a very successful season overall, ending with an 8-2 record and only giving up 14 total points on defense in all conference play, other than to the Excel Panthers. Many of the senior group have played together for up to seven years. Those that will be moving up to middle school football next year will be DJ Fountain, Jim Daugherty, Christian (Pudge)Autrey, Riley Surles, Takyi Askew, Quentera Stanley, Kameron Capterville and Dedric Crosby.
Congratulations to DJ Fountain and Jim Daugherty for being selected for the ERC Elite team, which was announced before the start of the championship game. Two are selected from each team and those selected have an opportunity to play in an ‘Elite Tournament’, along with other players selected as alternates.
Many thanks to the coaches that volunteer their time to make a difference in the lives of these young players. The coaching staff for the Brewton ERC Seniors are head coach Brian Wesley, and assistant coaches Jevon Pleasant, DeMarcus Streety, Adam Howell and Jim Daugherty.
