The Greater Brewton Area Lions Club is making available a patriotic service to locals.

The Lions Club displays the American Flag for local establishments and businesses.

Those who participate will have a flag placed in from of their location five times during the year.

• Monday, May 28 for Memorial Day;
• Thursday, June 14 for Flag Day;
• Wednesday, July 4 for Independence Day;
• Tuesday, Sept. 11 for Patriot Day;
• Sunday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day.

The annual holiday flag project is named in loving memory of PDG Lion L.E. Peace Jr.

Lions are asking for a $25 donation for each flag location. The members will put in place, take down, and be responsible for proper maintenance of the flag.

Besides providing eyeglasses, exams, and surgery services for the visually impaired, and legally blind, the Lions Club also provides diabetic youth training.

In addition, the Brewton Lions Club provides numerous scholarships to deserving youth in the Brewton/East Brewton area at ACCC.
