Are you looking for child to have a great summer vacation before school starts back in the fall?
Then get them signed up for the summer enrichment program at Brewton Elementary School. This program will be based on collected educational data such as Dibels, Star reading, math assessments and academic grades.
The program is offered to approximately 60 students including current pre-registered kindergarten and first through fifth grade students from Brewton Elementary School.
Summer enrichment is designed to assist students in the retention of skills previously mastered and developing new reading and math skills. Art, enrichment and recreational activities will be offered each week.
The summer enrichment program begins Monday June 4 and ends June 28. Attendance is required from 8 a.m. to Noon. Monday through Thursday. The program will last four weeks.
Parents must attend a brief parent meeting and registration on June 4 at 8 a.m. to be informed of the program procedures and goals. Bi-weekly parent meetings will be held with representatives from Hope Place. Also, discipline problems will warrant removal from the program.
Students in grades first through fifth will be transported to and from the YMCA for a portion of the school day. They will receive swimming lessons and water safety instruction as well as participate in other recreational activities. The YMCA will work with Pre-K and kindergarten students at the school each day.
