Illinois man killed; 5 injured in crash on 113

EVERGREEN POST — A two-vehicle crash at 7:45 p.m., July 18, has claimed the life of a Brookfield, IL man and injured five others. John A. Janis, 54, was killed when the 2007 Buick Lucerne he was driving collided with a 2003 GMC Sierra. Janis was airlifted to Sacred Heart in Pensacola, where he died from his injuries. The driver of the GMC, Hunter A. Majors, 18, of Brewton was injured and transported to D.W. McMillian Hospital. A passenger in the GMC, John Majors, 54, of Wing was injured and transported to D.W. McMillian Hospital. Three juvenile passengers from both vehicles were also injured and transported to D.W. McMillian Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash occurred on AL 113 at the 15.4-mile marker, 13 miles west of Flomaton. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate
