Troy police are investigating the death of a 19-year-old Brewton native.
Police arrived at The Arch apartments at approximately 9:17 a.m. Saturday and discovered Alaysia Rag’uel Pierre-Louis deceased inside the residence.
Pierre-Louise is a 2017 graduate of T.R. Miller High School.
Troy Police Chief Randall Barr said Monday that Pierre-Louis’s body was taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for autopsy.
“Preliminary results indicate that Ms. Pierre-Louis’s death was the result of a pre-existing medical condition and therefore ruled as death by natural causes,” Barr said.
She was a former student at Troy University, he said.
No other information is available at this time.
The Troy Police Department is being assisted by the Pike County District Attorney’s Office, The Pike County Coroner’s Office and The Alabama Department of Forensic Science.
“The Troy Police Department extends our deepest condolences to the family of Alaysia Rag’uel Pierre-Louis during this most difficult time,” Barr said.
The T.R. Miller High School band released a statement via social media.
“The entire TRM band family offers our condolences and prayers to the family of former TRM guard member and recent graduate Alaysia Pierre-Louis. She was a beautiful and talented young lady,” the post said.
Pierre-Louis spent time working at the John L. Fisher Center.
