A single vehicle crash at 3:12 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, has claimed the life of Jay, Fla., child and injured three others. The 7-year-old was killed when the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox she was riding in left the roadway and struck a tree. She was pronounced dead on scene. The driver, Delaney Hammac, 18, of Panama City was injured and transported to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. Two other children were transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. The crash occurred on Jay Road, seven miles southwest of Brewton. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
