The local River Run Apartments will undergo a $3 million renovation and redevelopment starting in early 2019.
It was announced last week that the renovations will include full interior renovations in each apartment and new kitchen cabinets and appliances will be added, as well as new light and plumbing fixtures, new flooring and fresh paint.
Exterior renovations will include the addition of covered porches on all multi-story buildings, new roofs, new doors and window.
All exterior site amenities and landscaping will also be updated.
The leasing office and clubhouse will be expanded to better serve the residents and onsite staff.
The project is expected to take a year, and is being undertaken by Gary Hall and the Hall Group of Dothan.
The announcement came as part of the Making Alabama Sweet Home Again tour, which is sponsored by the Alabama Affordable Housing Association.
The apartment complex includes 56 units.
Mayor Yank Lovelace praised the redevelopment.
“Housing is a priority for the city and this upgrade is much needed and appreciated. The city is growing and assets like River Run Apartments will help us meet the needs that come along with progress.”
