Escambia County voters chose State Rep. Alan Baker as its representative for House District 66 in the General Election on Nov. 6.
Baker, a Republican, defeated Susan Smith, a Democrat, 6,857-3,530, grabbing 66 percent of the vote. These are unofficial vote totals as they will be made official later in the week.
“I’m truly grateful for the outpouring of broad support,” Baker said. “I’m honored and blessed to be able to serve in the role as servant leader in representing Escambia and Baldwin County. I will continue my fulltime efforts in representing all of the citizens of my district within Escambia and Baldwin County.”
Smith said she feels like she got a lot accomplished.
“I just want to congratulate my opponent. He ran a good, clean campaign,” Smith said. “I did all I could do, and I feel like I got to meet a lot of good people.”
