George Pete Graves, 80, of Foshee Road, Brewton, Ala. passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018 in a Pensacola, Fla. Medical Facility after a brief illness. He was a native of Brewton, and a long time resident of Birmingham, before moving back to Brewton. Mr. Graves was of the Christian faith, a U.S. Airforce veteran, with five years of service and a retired telecommunications tech from the Southern Company Services, with 30 plus years of service. He loved music and reading.
Survivors include two daughters, Joanna (Tommy) Tanner of Trussville, Ala., Donna Fansler of Clay County, Ala.; three brothers, Cullen “Buck” Graves of Brewton, Wayne Graves of Panama City, Fla., Joe Chavers of Brewton; one sister, Brenda Pressley of Brewton; four grandchildren, David Tanner, Kristina Tanner, Shyenne Fansler, Gabe Fansler.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Miller Graves; son, Charles Chuck Graves
Visitation was held on Monday afternoon, Dec.17, 2018 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Brewton.
Funeral Services were held on Monday afternoon, Dec. 17, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Chavers. Interment folowed in Beulah Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
