Brewton Newspapers, Inc. is offering its real estate and building at 407 Saint Nicholas Avenue in Brewton for sale, will seek and eventually move to a more appropriately-sized facility after the property sells, publisher Kendra Majors announced this week.
“When our building was built in 1974, newspaper production included more steps with equipment that took more space,” Majors said. Advances in technology have streamlined the process and the tools and space needed to complete those tasks.
“Our core mission is to cover local news, and to feature as many local residents as possible on our pages. We can do this in a smaller space,“ Majors said.
The newspaper has engaged the services of Hines Realty to sell its current real estate and building. The facility is 5,134 square feet, and sits on a 1.35-acre lot. The Alabama Department of Transportation’s traffic map estimates an average daily flow of approximately 4,110 vehicles.
“Our building will make a great home for a business that needs a mix of general office space and warehouse or production space,” Majors said.
