The Brewton Fire Department was called to an apartment at Brewington Pointe Apartments Monday for a potential oven fire. An element in the oven started to arc, but there wasn’t a fire. There wasn’t any smoke in the apartment or major damage to the oven. Brewton Fire Department Chief Jeffrey Salter said they solved the issue in under two minutes by unplugging the oven. Salter said the maintenance people plan to replace the element. Salter estimates the damage is around $30.
