Lead testing at all Brewton City Schools determined there was no signs of lead contaminates in the water.
Superintendent Dr. Kenneth Varner said voluntary testing had been talked about at the state level among superintendents.
Varner said that while it was voluntary, if anything would have come up, then they would have had to fix the issue.
However, he said that they wanted to ensure that if there was an issue with lead that they knew about it so it could be rectified.
“We pulled the samples first thing in the morning,” he said. “There were no significant amounts of contaminates. We are lead free. “
