A sedan crashed into the storefront of Factory Connection in Brewton on Friday at 4:45 p.m. Factory Connection manager Rose Madden said that the driver of the vehicle had believed she was hitting the brakes when in actuality, she was hitting the gas pedal. Madden said the vehicle crashed through two full windows and severally damaged the window frame on the juniors section of the store.
No one was hurt during the accident, but Madden said if anyone were hurt, they would be in good hands because all three of the shoppers in the store at the time were nurses. Madden said she and her husband boarded up the exposed area on Friday night. Madden is not certain what the estimated amount of damages are, but she does hope to have the windows, window frames and floor repaired this week. Madden said that the store will remain closed until it is repaired because the jutting metal frame is hazardous to customers.
“I am just glad everyone was okay,” Madden said. “We hope to go back to our regular business hours this week.”
