Mr. Tony Anthony Brunson was born on Nov. 30, 1957 in Hampton, Virginia. He was the son of Ramsey Brunson Jr. and the late Georgia Mae Brunson. He departed this life on Fri., Oct. 25, 2019.
Tony accepted Christ at an early age. He spent his early years traveling around the world with his parents and siblings as a military family. Tony was educated in the public schools of Washington, DC and graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1975. He was very passionate about sports and enjoyed playing football in middle and high school. Shortly after graduation, he followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the United States Military. He served 14 years in the Army and Navy doing infantry. After he separated from the military he settled in Providence, Rhode Island. He was employed at Texas Instrument and Hewlett Packard for many years before he retired. After retirement, he moved to Maryland for a short while and later moved to Alabama where he met the love of his life, Essie Godbolt.
Tony was very passionate about his family and making people laugh. He was very loving and caring and he took a lot of pride in making others smile and sharing a heavenly word with them. No matter what type of bad day someone else was having, he would be sure to tell several jokes to make you forget about anything that was bothering you. His smile was infectious and he especially loved his grandchildren. He was an all-around loving grandfather, father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend.
He was preceded in his death by his mother, Georgia Mae Brunson and his grandmother, Leola Hall Brunson.
He leaves to cherish so many beautiful memories to his wife, Essie Brunson; three daughters, Vivian (Mychal) Miller, Leah Brunson and Antionette (Sedrick) Samuel; one step-daughter, Melanie (Timmira) Nolan; his father, Ramsey (Jewel) Brunson Jr.; one brother, Michael (Gwendolyn) Brunson; two sisters, Georgette (Michael) Coleman and Shelia Brunson; six grandchildren, Kendall, Kylin, Marvin, Sedrick Jr., Amina and Yvette; three aunts, Theresa Scales, Elizabeth (Eddie) Childs and Annie Lee Williams and a host of cousins, Nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.
Memorial services for Mr. Brunson was held on Sat., Nov. 2, 2019 at Presley-Fluker Funeral Chapel (39676 Highway 31, Brewton, AL) at 11AM with Reverend Matthew Coleman officiating with Military Honors.
Professional care and final arrangements were entrusted to Presley-Fluker Funeral Directors of Evergreen and Brewton, Ala.
