The Brewton City Schools choral program presented its 25th annual, “Christmas with the Singers,” on Monday.
A member of the Alabama Vocal Association, the program is under the direction of Greg Blackman.
“The Brewton City School Choral program under my direction celebrates 25 years of choral Christmas concerts on this stage. I have had the distinct privilege of working with years of talented students that represent the best of what Brewton has to offer,” said Blackman.
The concert began with solos by Bryce Martin, Shyanne Salter, Hannah Mallory, and Matthew Morgan.
Following the special music, the Brewton Middle School Singers and the T.R. Miller High School Singers presented a melody of Christmas tunes for the audience.
Giving special remarks at the end of the service, Blackman invited all choral alumni to the stage.
“A special invitation to all students who have been apart of this choral program was made public. We have some of those students present with us tonight. We invite you to the stage,” said Blackman.
Alumni present joined the choir on stage for a carol sing to conclude the production.
Pleased with the overall outcome of the past 25 years, Blackman shared, “I am so proud to be apart of this great tradition of excellence that will continue to be apart of the community for years to come. We truly have something special that most small communities do not have. I thank the Brewton City School Board of Education and the administration of BCS for continuing to provide support as we make a positive impact on this community.”
