Mr. Daniel “Danny” Norwood, 72, of Brewton, Ala.,  passed away Sat. Dec, 7, 2019, at a Atmore, Ala., nursing facility. He was a native of Conecuh County, Ala., a former resident of Lyeffion where he graduated from Lyeffion High School, and a long time resident of Brewton. Mr. Norwood was a member of the Catawba Springs Baptist Church and was retired from Pollard-McCall Junior High School where he started as a teacher from 1969-1980 and was the principal from 1980-2006 with 37 years of service. Mr. Norwood enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters, coaching basketball, traveling, especially with his long time dog Snider and his favorite hobbies were gardening, hunting, and collecting knives.

He is survived by his son Dan (Jayne) Norwood of Wilsonville, Ala.; his daughter, Charlotte (Jason) Welch of Frisco City, Ala.; a sister, Melba Williams of Montgomery, Ala; six grandchildren, Meredith Norwood, Natalee Norwood, Gracie Welch, Mattie Beth Welch, Katelyn Anderson, Lauren Anderson.

A time of visitation was held Tues., Dec.10, 2019,  from 6PM  until 8PM at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton, Ala.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019 at 1PM at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Edwards officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery Lyeffion, Ala. with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton, Ala. directing
