On Monday, July20, 1936 God completed his purpose and plan of life and sent an angel named Francine Teresa Mosley to Charles Barrett and Esther Mosley in Leesburg, FL. This is where her journey began.
As a teenager, Francine enjoyed life. She loved dancing and going to basketball games. When the group the Four Tops came out, it was one of her all-time favorites. Francine went to Jersey City, New Jersey and attended Henry Synder High School for a short period of time and then returned back to Leesburg where she graduated high school from Leesburg High School.
In 1954 she returned to Jersey City, New Jersey and there she managed two car wash businesses. Afterwards she decided she needed a career change, so, Francine went to work as a mail sorter for the United States Postal Service. While in Jersey City, Francine met and married the love of her life on October 18, 1986, Virgil Moody. When the city life began to change too much, the couple relocated to Brewton, Ala. Here she served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross. Afterwards she became a domestic worker for Thomas and Jane McMillian where she completed her working years until retirement.
In Brewton she found her home church at Baptist Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She would attend church as often as she could until her health began to fail. Even after her health began to fail, she would faithfully get up every morning at 3AM to drink her coffee and to read her Bible.
Francine was a loving and very kind hearted person. She was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend.
She was preceded in death by both parents; a sister, Dorothy Stewart and two brothers, Kenneth Mosley and Greg Mosley.
She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories a husband of 33 years, Virgil Moody of Brewton; one daughter, Kimberly Rios (Wayne) of Atlanta, Ga.; one son, Stephen Cato (Rose) of Warner Robins, Ga; four grandchildren of whom were her whole heart, Christopher, Kristephen, KeDarrius, and Karmaiya, all of Ga; two sisters, Ernestine “Pat” Mosley of Leesburg, Fla. and Carol Diaz of Ocala, Fla.; two brothers, Ray Mosley of Leesburg, Fla. and Michael Mosley of Orlando, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Rita Malloy of Jersey City, N.J., Sarah “Carol” Bingham of Statesboro, Ga and Janese Clark (Greg) of S.C.; brothers-in-law, James Moody (Janice) of Claxton, Ga. and Alex “Tony” Moody (Charnett) of Pennsylvania, Pa. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and last, but not least, a very devoted friend and neighbor, Ceola Jackson.
Funeral service for Mrs. Francine Moody was held Sat., Jan. 25, 2020 at 11AM at Baptist Hill Missionary Baptist Church (720 Sowell Road, Brewton, Ala.) with Pastor Eric T. Andrews officiating and Eulogist.
Interment followed immediately after the funeral service at the Baptist Hill Cemetery.
