Mrs. Martha Lois Jackson Mitchell, 68, of  Brewton, passed away Sat., Feb.1, 2020 at her residence.  Mrs. Mitchell was a native and life-long resident of Brewton and was a homemaker.  She was of the Holiness Faith.

Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Jackson, Sr. and Evelyn Lois Hodge Bates; a son, Johnny Wayne Jerkins; a daughter, Tressa “Mechell ‘’ Richards.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, George M. Mitchell of Brewton; daughter, Norma Jerkins of Castleberry; step-son, Michael (Pansy) Mitchell of Brewton; step-daughter, Tonya (Michael) Smith of Baldwin County, Ala.; brother, Jessie Jackson of Brooklyn, Ala.; eight grandchildren, Jessie Mitchell, Laura Mitchell, Brooke Butler, Mycah Thomas, Shaya Richards, Adam Jerkins, Lily Hart, Nicole Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Allie Burch, Sofia Mills, Kenneth Mills, Jr., Bentley Butler, Nolan Butler, Oaklen Butler, Remington Thomas, Hazley Thomas; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Mitchell will be held on Sat., Feb. 22, 2020, at Bethel Mennonite Church at 2PM, with Bro. Woody Jackson officiating.
