Zion Fountain A.M.E. Church recently held “Third Sunday,” and “Youth Day.”
According to Rev. Anthony Thames, the church has experienced an explosion.
“A large burst of youth to be exact,” said Thames. The church welcomed many young men and women.
The youth are a part of the Alabama Teen Challenge Program, which is meant to rehabilitate young men and women with ranging issues from youth to young adulthood.
“This is the first time in the church’s history that we have partnered with Alabama’s Teen Challenge program.” said Thames.
The Teen Challenge Program coincides perfectly with Rev. Thames’ PROS Program (Parents Reclaiming Our Sons). Both groups aim to target youth, men, and women, with a vision to help better steer the wheel for youth in order to get on track.
The Teen Challenge members attended the service along side Zion’s youth. During the service, the students gave various testimonies of strength, willpower, perseverance, and courage in a space surrounded by dedicated men and women who have given countless hours and effort for each youth. Afterwards, Zion Fountain Church presented Alabama Teen Challenge with a $300 contribution.
