Alabama Power is responding to over 1700 people in the Brewton area without power.

According to Beth Thomas, Public Information Representative for the Mobile Division, power lines are down on multiple streets in the area with 6 known broken power poles.

“Crews are here from Monroeville, Atmore, and a contract crew out of Mobile to help restore the power as safely and as soon as possible,” Thomas said.

Currently, there is no known time when all power will be restored to the area.

Thomas encouraged residents to stay away from down power lines and keep all children and pets away from these lines.

All in all, Alabama Power as a whole is working to repair the damage after the severe weather storm this morning. Thomas concluded, “We thank everyone for their patience as our crews work to restore power as soon as possible.”
