Geraldine Maldon Grace made her grand entrance in the world on March 17, 1941 in Troy, Alabama. She was born to the parents of Cora Lee Copeland-Maldon and Caesar Maldon. She resided in Montgomery, Ala. until the age of ten, when she moved to Brewton, with her father and loving stepmother, Alice Maldon. She joined Baptist Hill Missionary Baptist Church at a young age.
Geraldine was a graduate of Southern Normal High School, Class of 1959. She went on to attend Alabama A&M University; then soon after, she joined in holy matrimony to Joe L. Grace and to this union three children were born: Natalie Joetta, Kimberly Dean, and Gerald Louis.
Geraldine spent much of her young adult life traveling and living in various countries and states via military. Upon her return to Brewton she worked at Judy Bond for over 20 years.
Geraldine was very active in her church, serving as a Sunday school teacher, superintendent of the Sunday school, member and president of the choir. Geraldine was an active member of Mission Circle #2 and served as president of the Missionary department. She also assisted with Vacation Bible School.
Geraldine had many hobbies and talents, which included reading, sewing, cooking, and sharing her singing talent by singing at various programs and services. On any given day you could find her with a Pepsi and her Bible, spending time with her great granddaughter, Kollynn. She enjoyed watching Westerns, the TBN Religious channel and CNN News.
Geraldine devoted her life to loving, caring for, and protecting her family. She leaves to celebrate her life and beautiful memories to her children, Kimberly (Sam) Padilla and Gerald (Virgie) Grace; her grandchildren, Latasha Jenkins, Kristian “Alex” Harrison, Onyka Grace, Marisa Padilla, Khalilah “Lei-Lei” Harrison and Gera Grace; great grandchildren, Ethan Jenkins, Kollynn N. Samuel and D. Kade Harris; sister, Alice Terrell and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Geraldine Maldon Grace was held Sat., Feb. 15, 2020, at 11AM at Baptist Hill Missionary Baptist Church with its pastor, Reverend Eric T. Andrews officiating.
Interment immediately followed at Baptist Hill Cemetery.
Professional care and final arrangements were entrusted to Presley-Fluker Funeral Directors of Evergreen and Brewton, Ala.
