Burech Floyd was born on January 15, 1951 to the late Annie Mae and Lawyer Smith in Brewton, Ala. She was one of nine siblings; five preceded her in death.

On Mar. 12, 2020, at a Pensacola, Fla., hospital due to an illness, God saw fit to call Burech home. During this illness her faith in God never wavered. She remained faithful, fervent and focused on the mission God called her to do and that was planting good seed into good ground wherever she went; the Word of God.

Burech found Christ at an early age and joined Baptist Hill Missionary Baptist Church; baptized by Pastor Sidney C. Tucker. She attended Booker T. Washington School and T.R. Miller High School where she graduated with the Class of 1969.

In 1970 between Burech Smith and Eddie Jones two daughters were produced; Karisky and Okima.

In 1991 she was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Otis Floyd. Together they owned and operated D&O Upholstery.

Burech loved and adored her family; they were the lights of her life. Having such a loving heart, she truly treasured the East Brewton Senior Citizen Center and held her many dear and loving friends there, close to her heart.

Burech leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband of 28 years, Mr. Otis Floyd; two beautiful daughters, Karisky Samuel of Troy, Ala. and Okima (Randy) Spears of Navarre, Fla.; four step-children, Nicole (Felix) Turner, Tubious (Jeanette) Floyd, Katrina (Ty) Samuel and Christopher (Paula) Floyd; nine grandchildren, Christopher Samuel, Chania Mitchell, Briana Samuel, Kijana Mitchell, Karen Samuel, Diana Samuel, Jeremiya Mitchell, Rickel Samuel and Thomas Mitchell; five step-grandchildren, Nicholas Turner, Christian Turner, Aubrey Samuel, Winston Floyd and Jackson Floyd; eight great grandchildren, Christopher, Xavier, Kaden, Kollynn, Bailee, Leia Bureche`, Khole and Jules; two very special sisters, Marie (Ralph) Barton and Marion Harris, both of Brewton, Ala.; two brothers, Jessie (Regina) and Richard (Nora), both of Brewton, Ala.; mother-in-law, Della (Apostle Fred) Lindsey; father-in-law, Pastor Rural (Martha Jean) Floyd of Brewton, Ala.; two aunts, “Ma” Rosie Anderson and Mrs. Vera Montgomery and a host of nieces (one special which she and her sisters claim as their sister “Bob”), nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Burech Floyd were held Thur., Mar. 19, 2020 at 2PM at Baptist Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Brewton, Ala. where Reverend Eric T. Andrews is Pastor, with Apostle Fred Lindsey officiating.

Internment was held immediately following the funeral at Baptist Hill Cemetery.
