CASTLEBERRY, ALA.

Mr. Lomax Monk, Jr., age 66 of Monk Pond Road in Castleberry, Ala., passed away Tuesday evening Apr. 14, 2020.

Mr. Monk was a lifetime resident of Castleberry.  He was a farmer who enjoyed turkey hunting, watching westerns, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and working with his cows.

Mr. Monk was preceded in death by his father, Lomax Monk, Sr.

He is survived by his wife  of 46 years, Rita Monk of Castleberry; his mother, Angie Monk of Castleberry; two sons, Brandon (Luci) Monk of Newnan, Ga., and Justin (Ashton) Monk of Wetumpka, Ala.; one daughter, April (Chris) Heaton of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, J.W. Monk of Excel, Ala.; three sisters, Loma (Larry) Covin of Castleberry, Ala., Gloria Forsythe of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Valarie (Richard) Brown of Castleberry; eight grandchildren, Sydney Heaton, Atticus Heaton, Tucker Heaton, Sadie Heaton, Easton Monk, Maggie Monk, Mollie Monk, and Emma Monk.

Graveside funeral services were held at 4PM Friday, Apr. 17, 2020, at Cedar Creek Cemetery with Bro. Bob Godbee officiating and Craver’s Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
