The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) anticipates beginning a resurfacing project on a portion of US-31 in Brewton the week of May 18.
The project scope includes resurfacing and striping on a portion of US-31 from north of the Burnt Corn Creek bridge to north of the junction of Tiger Dr. The project also includes roadway safety improvements at the intersection of US-31/SR 41-near the CSX Railroad crossing.
Motorists can expect nightly, alternating lane closures Sunday through Thursday between 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The $1.4 million-dollar contract was awarded to H.O. Weaver and Sons Inc. and is expected to be completed by August 2020.
ALDOT’s mission is to provide a safe, efficient, environmentally sound transportation network across Alabama.
