Mrs. Mary Kathryn Cooley Godwin, 77, of Market Road in Jay, Fla., passed away Wednesday afternoon October 21, 2020.
Mrs. Godwin was a native of Brewton and a life-long resident of the Jay, Fla., area. She was a retired school teacher with Century, Milton and Jay High Schools in Florida after 30-plus years of teaching and was a 1961 graduate of Jay High School, Pensacola Junior College and Florida State University with a degree in Biology. She attended the Golden Memorial Holiness Church.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bobby Godwin of Jay, Fla.; son, Kevin Godwin of Milton, Fla.; daughter, Rachel (Josh) Young of Flomaton; sister, Margaret (Perry) Sessions of Jay, Fla.; granddaughter, Edy Young of Flomaton; grandson on the way, Silas Young and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Woodrow and Mary Lee Golden Cooley.
Funeral services were held at Saturday October 24, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Golden Memorial Holiness Church with Brother Phillip Deane officiating. Interment followed in Golden Memorial Holiness Church Cemetery.
Visitation was held Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Golden Memorial Holiness Church.
Active pallbearers were Barton Sessions, Darren Duke, John Daniel Golden, Stephen Jackson, Perry Sessions and Travis Allen. Honorary pallbearers were Wendell Thomas, David Walther, Randal Godwin, Randy Cooley, Philip Marshall, and Stephen Wolfe.
Craver’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
