Christopher “Chris” Eugene Jackson, 73, of Indianapolis, Ind., passed away Thursday,
July 23, 2020, at his residence in Indianapolis after a long illness. He was born in
Montgomery to military parents, and was a former resident of Brewton.
He graduated from Jefferson Davis Junior College, then from the University of West Florida before entering military service. Mr. Jackson owned and operated a regional Computer and Printer Repair Service based in the Indianapolis area for more than 20 years. Prior to his business retirement, Jackson retired as an Army Major, having served 26 years in the U.S. Army Reserve and four years active duty service in the U.S. Navy.
Jackson is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jan Jackson of Indianapolis; daughter Keri (Keith) Clipp of Tampa, Fla.; three Sons: Scott Jackson of Atlanta, Ga.; John (Carolyn) Jackson of New Jersey; James (Cynthia) Jackson of Newnan, Ga.; and was a proud, loving “Ganner” to nine grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Charles (Cindy) Jackson and Carl (Elaine) Jackson of Brewton; and a sister, Clara Ann (Johnny) Talton, of Salisbury, N.C. He is also mourned and missed by Jan’s children Leah Haley, Tom Haley and Rence Haley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher C. and Clara White Jackson of Brewton.
Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday morning, November 28, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in Green Acres Cemetery next to Catawba Springs Baptist Church.
Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
