Mr. Robert “Bob” Paul Roth, 92, of Lynbrook Drive in Brewton, passed away on November 13, 2020 at his home after an extended illness. He was born in 1928 in St. Louis, Mo., spending his childhood there until joining the United States Navy in 1945.
In 1947 Bob married Juanita Adams of Paxton, Fla. After living for a short time in St. Louis, San Diego, and Paxton, the Roth’s moved to Brewton in 1957 when the paper mill opened. Bob worked at the mill as a millwright for 35 years. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
This past April, Bob was preceded in death by Juanita, his wife of over 72 years. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Helen Roth, brother, Pvt. Jack H. Roth, and sisters, Helene Maurer and Dolores Thiele, all of St. Louis, Missouri.
He is survived by a son, Robert D. Roth of Brewton; four daughters, Nita (Kenny) Owens of Allentown, Fla., Helen (Randy) Reed of Pickens, S.C., Dee (Robert) Black of Birmingham, and Jackie (Robbie) Smith of Brewton; 10 grandchildren, Ken Owens, Kathryn (Chris) Gavin, John (Rachel) Reed, David (Zaimz) Reed, Andrew Reed, Brian Black, Jennifer Black, Wesley (Ashley) Smith, Brad (Ashton) Smith, and Lauren Smith; 12 great-grandchildren, Allie, Mazie, Cody, Caitlyn, , Heidi, Caleb, Ian, William, Sky, Kylee, Camden, and Shelby.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery in Brewton.
Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
