Mrs. Lois Ellena Dantzler Steele, 98, of Brewton, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020 in a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Steele was a native of Brewton and graduated from W.S. Neal High School. She was also a graduate of Rhema Bible College in Tulsa, Okla. She and her husband traveled in evangelistic work for 33 years. She later got her beauticians license and owned and operated “Lois’s Beauty Box” in Tulsa, Okla. She and her husband retired in the early 1980’s and returned to Brewton to reside. Lois was a very talented lady. She enjoyed painting, filling her house with her artwork. She was a member of East Brewton Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Collins T. Steele; her parents, Felix and Callie Dantzler; and her siblings, William Delara Dantzler, Ola Veleria Dantzler, Felix Edward Dantzler, Fred Dantzler, Lemmy Dantzler, Adell Blackburn, Jessie Lee Dantzler, Melton Guy Dantzler, and Winnie Frances Lambeth.
She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Scurlock and Bro. Fred White officiating. Interment followed in Weaver Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gary Robinson, Jim Gay, Charles Jackson, Steven Baldwin, Don O’Bannon, and Jimmy Adkisson.
Craver’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
