Mrs. Ruth Barrett Evans, 89, of Pineview Street in Brewton, passed away Monday evening December 7, 2020 at her sons residence.

Mrs. Evans was a native of Greenville and a former resident of Atmore before moving to Brewton many years ago.  She was a retired custodian with Westgate Village Nursing home and attended Edendale Holiness Church.  Mrs. Evans was a 1949 graduate of Atmore High School.

She is survived by two sons, Gordon Lamar Evans, Jr. of Brewton and  Dwight Evans of Brewton; daughter, Lana Kay (Carl Richard) Bartholomew of Brewton; brother, Wayne Barrett of Huntsville, Texas; sister, Connie Matthews of Montgomery; four Grandchildren, Adam, Candace, Johnathan and Aubrey; five great-grandchildren, Austin, Autumn, Jayce, Madelyn and Anna Belle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Lamar Evans Sr.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Barrett Evans will be Thursday, December 10 at 11:00 a.m. at the Damascus Cemetery with Brother Donnis Bowman officiating.
