Isaac Bonam has signed an agreement to become a Lancer at the Atlanta Institute of Business.
Bonam, a senior at W.S. Neal High School in East Brewton, will be making the move to Atlanta in the fall to play football with the Lancer team at the Atlanta school.
Bonam was joined by his parents, April Bonam Brown and Meco Brown for the signing ceremony held at WSN Friday morning. Also joining in the ceremony were Bonam’s grandparents, Minnie and Jackie English
W.S. Neal Head Coach Andro Williams said Bonam was an asset for the team and he is pleased with the offer to continue playing football.
“I am proud for this great opportunity for Isaac,” Williams said. “To be able to go on and play at the next level is a great opportunity. And the opportunity to gain in academics is always the goal. I know he will represent his family, the community and W.S. Neal well.”
Bonam played on the defensive line as a running back for the W.S. Neal Eagles through his high school career.
“He is the kind of player that any coach wants to coach,” Williams said. “He has a great supporting cast in his corner with his family giving him the support he needs in what he’s doing. It takes a village to raise a kid and get them to the next level. We are excited about this opportunity for him to play at the next level and get a good education.”
Bonam said he intends to get his degree in business from AIB, and use that to achieve his dream.
“I love to work on cars,” Bonam said. “I would enjoy selling cars, too. With a business degree, I hope to someday own my own car dealership.”
AIB is located in Atlanta, Ga., and is a Division 1 school.
