Walter Brian Rodgers, 48, of Chelsea, Alabama passed away of a heart attack on January 28, 2021.

Brian is survived by his wife, Diane Briggs Rodgers, son, Aiden Rodgers; parents Jacque and Jim Byrd of Brewton, AL and Tom and Faye Rodgers of Brewton, AL; brother Lee Rodgers (Sherri) of Birmingham, AL; sister, Jennifer Newman (Tony) of Excel, AL; Nieces Taylor and Jordan Rodgers of Tuscaloosa, AL and paternal grandmother Ann Griggs Rodgers of Brewton, AL.

He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Judson and Frances Looney of Bessemer, AL and paternal grandfather, Lee Rodgers of Brewton, AL.

Brian was a graduate of T.R. Miller High School; The Culinary Institute of Virginia College and The University of Alabama. Brian was an Escambia County deputy sheriff and a police officer for the City of Brewton. He was in the Army National Guard prior to serving in the United States Army which included a tour in Kuwait. Brian was the Executive Chef at The Five Star Plantation in Kellyton, AL; he was Product Management Director with the Alabama ABC Board in Montgomery; and most recently was the Chief Executive Officer of Dread River Distilling Company in Birmingham, AL.

Brian was buried on February 8, 2021 in a private ceremony at the Alabama National Cemetery with full Military Funeral Honors.
