Lisa McMillan is back where she believes she is meant to be – in the kitchen.
Reopening after being shut down through the COVID-19 pandemic, Drexell & Honeybee’s Donations Only Restaurant is also celebrating their third anniversary.
“I’m so glad to be open again,” McMillan said Thursday just before opening her doors to diners. “It’s wonderful to be able to have folks come in and sit down to have a good meal. I’m so tired of the to-go plates. It’s great to be open again!”
McMillan said the restaurant hours are typically from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. but if there is a need, she would stay a little longer.
“We plan to be here until 1 p.m. today,” McMillan said. “But, if folks are still coming in, we will stay until we run out of food.”
The menu for Thursday Meatloaf, baked turkey, sausage with peppers, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, dressing, cabbage, rutabagas, turnips, and of course, dessert.
The restaurant is located on Lee Street in downtown Brewton.
