Mrs. Ethelene Baggett Harold, 93, of Escambia Avenue in Brewton passed away peacefully April 4, 2021.
Mrs. Harold was born in Ollie on September 26, 1927 and was the daughter of Edmond and Lula Baggett. Ethelene was a 1945 graduate of T.R. Miller High School. She was most remembered for her tenure as the single majorette for the marching band.
Mrs. Harold served the local community in the banking industry, as secretary for Brewton City Schools and as senior representative for Alabama Power where she retired after 24 years of service.
She was a life long member of the Brewton First Baptist Church where she served in many capacities of ministry. Her volunteer services included Board member for the American Cancer Society and American Red Cross. One of her greatest honors was being recognized as the 1968 Brewton woman of the year. She will be remembered for not only her professional roles but for her many contributions to the Greater Brewton Community.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Leigh Najor of Brewton, and Jamye (Josh) James of Pike Road, Alabama; four great-grandchildren, Jake (Mary Allison Peace) Najor, Kate Najor, Lily James and Emil James.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Kenneth Harold; a daughter, Deborah Harold Graves; a son, Kenneth Emile Harold; a daughter-in-law, Gila Berryhill Harold; five sisters; and four brothers.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, April 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Headley officiating. Interment will follow in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery Brewton.
Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
