Dispatchers for law enforcement agencies are the first point of contact when things go badly for citizens. The dispatchers for Brewton Police, East Brewton Police and Escambia County Sheriff’s offices are no exception.

National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week is observed this week in honor of those who are literally on the front line for any emergency situation.

In Brewton, Claudia Lee serves as the dispatch supervisor and oversees the departments dispatch operations and staff. Deborah Carroll fills that role for the East Brewton Police Department and Cherry Turberville supervises the dispatch division of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department.

If you see any of these selfless ladies around town this week, be sure to offer your thanks for their cool heads, quick thinking and professionalism as they perform their duties for their respective agencies.

See next week’s Brewton Standard edition for an in-depth look at these professionals and their duties.
