Mrs. Debra Kay Smith Brown, 61, of East Brewton, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021 at her residence after a brief illness.

Mrs. Brown was a native and lifelong resident of the Brewton/East Brewton area. She attended the Damascus Community Church and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Eddie Brown of East Brewton; a daughter, Ruby (Javier) Apale of East Brewton; two sons, James Brown of Brewton and Charles Brown of Brewton; two brothers, Charlie Smith of Brewton and Lamon Smith of Brewton; three grandchildren, Jose Apale, Nacho Apale and Joseph Apale.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Estelle Burch Smith and a brother, Nolan Smith.

Funeral Services were held Friday, April 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Cosey officiating. Interment followed in New Hopewell Cemetery in Castleberry.

Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
