Mr. James “Jimmy” Morton Riggs, 90, of Escambia Avenue in Brewton, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021 at his residence after a brief illness.
Mr. Riggs was a native and former resident of Castleberry and a long time resident of Brewton. He was a member of the Brewton First Baptist Church, and was the retired maintenance supervisor from Brewton City School System. He enjoyed woodworking, restoring old Model A cars, he was an expert repairman, and he attended as many football games as possible.
He is survived by his wife, Iris Wilson Riggs of Brewton; a son, Jamie (Becky) Riggs of Brewton; a daughter, Sherry Riggs of Brewton; two grandchildren, Mikel (Mallory) Riggs of Wil (Kaitlyn) Riggs of Fairhope; two great-grandchildren, Mattie Beckett Riggs and Major Riggs.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Parker Johnson officiating. Interment followed in Buffington Cemetery in Castleberry with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
