Apparent tornado rips through area Saturday

An early Saturday storm swept through the area leaving severe damage in its wake. An apparent tornado, associated with Tropical Storm Claudette, is suspected to be the culprit for the damage.
Areas in East Brewton most significantly impacted from the storm include several blocks on Forrest Avenue, Shoffner Street, Andrew Jackson Street and Hwy. 29. Several homes received severe damage and others were completely demolished.
