Brewton Area Fellowship of Christian Athletes Director Russell Clausell Jr., made a difficult decision Tuesday morning concerning an event planned by the organization this weekend.

“After prayerfully considering everything, I’m going to postpone the event until around homecoming,” Clausell said. “The COVID numbers are significantly rising in our area. I don’t want our event to be the reason school gets off to a rocky start or worst the reason that someone gets fatally ill.”

Although the organization had planned on the event for fundraising, Clausell said life is worth more than mondy.

“This would be our major fundraiser for the year,” Clausell said. “But there’s no dollar worth the lives of the people in our community.”
