With the first day of school less than a week away, students at area schools will have an opportunity to meet their teachers before entering school for class.
At Brewton Elementary School, a “Meet the Teacher” day has been set for Friday, Aug. 5.
Scheduled times for grades at BES are as follows: Kindergarten – 8 to 9 a.m.; first grade – 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.; second grade – 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.; third grade – 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; and fourth grade from 1 to 2 p.m.
At Brewton Middle School, sessions to meet the teacher begin at noon for sixth grade followed by seventh grade from 1 to 2 p.m. and eighth grade from 2 to 3 p.m. Fifth grade and new students at the school will attend an orientation session on Sunday, Aug. 7 beginning at 2 p.m. in the school gymnasium.
For W.S. Neal students, all students will be invited into the school on Friday, Aug 5 from 1 to 3 p.m. for an open house-style meet the teacher session. Kindergarten students will have an orientation session beginning at 1 p.m. in their individual classrooms.
W.S. Neal Middle School students will be introduced to teachers and take care of lockers and fees during an open house on Friday as well.
Students can attend the open house from 1 to 4 p.m. at the school and will also be able to purchase lockers, pay fees and even pick up some school spirit apparel. Parents will also have an opportunity to become a part of the school’s Parent Teacher Organization during open house.
W.S. Neal High School held their orientation and open house Tuesday.
Students at T.R. Miller High School have also completed their schedule pick-up for the new year.
The first day of school for all Brewton City School and Escambia County School students is Monday, August 8 with the first school holiday on Sept. 5 in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
