Brewton Elementary School will be holding kindergarten registration on Wednesday, April 19 at the school.
BES Principal Barry Wood said the kindergarten registration brings excitement for the school .
“This is always an exciting time for our school and especially for children entering school for the first time,” Wood said. “We’re very much looking forward to meeting the TRM Class of 2036 and their parents.”
Registration will consist of specific times on April 19. Sessions will be available at 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Parents are asked to call the school office to select a time. The office can be reached at 251-867-8410.
All sessions will be held on the main campus of Brewton Elementary School on Douglas Avenue.
Vicki Williamson, kindergarten teacher at BES, said parents are invited to attend the sessions for information needed about their kindergarten student.
“Parents, please join us for an informational session in the Media Center where you will hear all about our Kindergarten basics and expectations,” Williamson said. “Please bring all paperwork and documents needed for your child. While we’re meeting with you, one of our kindergarten teachers will administer a quick screener to your child and provide you with feedback at the end.”
Williamson said students and parents will also be receiving additional items during the event.
“You will also receive a goodie bag full of items to help make learning fun as you practice basic skills over the summer to help ensure that your child is well prepared for kindergarten,” Williamson said. “We look forward to seeing you there!”
Brewton Elementary School is part of the Brewton City School System. The school is located at 901 Douglas Avenue in Brewton.
